Titanium Grade 4
Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4
Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4 has the highest strength of all commercially pure titanium grades. This titanium grade has good corrosion resistance in various environments. Titanium Grade 4 is widely used in the aerospace industry, as well as in other industrial applications. When high strength is a requirement, this titanium is often chosen. Think, for example, of applications in the medical and maritime industries.
Titanium Grade 4 is the strongest of the commercially pure titanium grades, but also the most impure. With commercially pure titanium, corrosion resistance is often most important. Strength and hardness increase with the grade number (Grade 1 is the softest, Grade 4 is the hardest). Of all the commercially pure titanium grades, Grade 2 is the most widely used, because in that grade there is a compromise between purity and mechanical values. Whereas Grade 1 is mainly used when good formability is required, Grade 4 is used when high strength is needed.
About Titanium Grade 4
This commercially pure titanium alloy is available in various forms. The mechanical properties of titanium are influenced by its oxygen and iron content. Grade 4 is the strongest titanium among the unalloyed grades. It possesses good ductility and medium ductility. The best strength-to-weight ratio is achieved at moderate temperatures, but at low temperatures this alloy also has good impact strength.

Strongest commercially pure titanium grade
Titanium Grade 4 is the strongest of the commercially pure titanium grades, with a minimum yield strength of 480 MPa (70ksi). It has the highest allowable oxygen and iron content of the grades. Titanium Grade 4 can be found in aircraft engines, corrosive waste processing pits, chemical processing plants, desalination plants, and in pulp and paper production.
