B alloy
Hastelloy B
Hastelloy B is resistant to corrosion and heat. This makes the alloy suitable for aerospace applications, as well as in the petrochemical industry.
Depending on the conditions, the ambient temperature can vary up to 1500 degrees Celsius. This metal is resistant to acids such as sulfuric and non-oxidizing acids.
Hastelloy B alloy in short:
- Control of iron and chromium content to a minimum to prevent the formation of β-phase Ni4Mo.
- Excellent corrosion resistance.
- Excellent resistance to concentrations such as sulfuric acid and a wide range of non-oxidizing acids.
- Very good resistance to chloride reducing stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
- Good corrosion resistance to various organic acids.
