Martensitic stainless steel
Alloy 17-4 PH falls under the martensitic stainless steel. In this stainless steel grade, chromium is the main alloying element. Martensitic stainless steel is characterized by its high hardness and corrosion resistance. As a result, 17-4 PH is widely used in situations where strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance are required.
About alloy 17-4 PH
In alloy 17-4 PH, the high corrosion resistance of stainless steel is combined with high strength. This alloy has a high tensile strength and hardness up to 316 degrees Celsius. Also, 17-4 PH has a high resistance to oxidation (up to 593 degrees Celsius). Unlike other types of stainless steel, alloy 17-4 is weldable.
