C22HS alloy
Hastelloy® C-22HS™ alloy
This very strong, C-type, alloy is widely used in the oil and gas industry. It is the main nickel-chromium-molybdenum material. The corrosion resistance of this alloy makes it widely used in the oil and gas industry, but it is also widely used in other industries.
The C-22HS alloy can also be used for applications where that high strength is not a requirement. In certain states, the C-22HS alloy even has a higher corrosion resistance, particularly with respect to localized corrosive attack.
Product description
Advances in materials research have led to the development of Hastelloy C-22HS alloy, a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy. This alloy has been developed to exhibit corrosion resistance similar to other C-type alloys, however, which can be heat-treated to achieve nearly double the yield strength. In addition to high resistance to uniform corrosion in both oxidizing and reducing media, C-22HS in the heat-treated condition is also highly resistant to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.
