825 alloy
Alloy 825
Alloy 825 is designed for use in aggressive corrosive millieus. The amount of nickel in this alloy is sufficient to make it resistant to chloride ion stress corrosion. The combination with molybdenum and copper provides good resistance to reducing acids.
Alloy 825 summarized:
- Nickel-iron-chromium alloy with molybdenum, copper and titanium
- Sufficient nickel content to resist corrosion cracking
- Used in fuel element dissolvers, heat exchangers, evaporators, scrubbers.
Product description Alloy 825:
The chromium in this alloy provides resistance in oxidizing millieus. The alloy provides resistance to pitting and intergranular corrosion at temperatures in the sensitizing range. Alloy 825 has particular corrosion resistant properties in; sulfuric acid solutions, phosphoric acid and seawater. Alloy 825 finds particular application in phosphoric acid evaporators, chemical process plants, drive shafts, tank cars, etc.
