Ni-Cu alloy alloy 400

Alloy 400 is a Ni-Cu alloy that combines reasonable strength and ductility with good weldability and high corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range. Alloy 400 is particularly suitable for use in brackish and seawater environments with high flow rates such as propellers, propeller shafts, pump shafts, pump impellers and condenser tubes.

Product Description Alloy 400:

The corrosion rate in very fast flowing and aerated brackish and sea water is usually not more than 0.03 mm/year. The corrosion resistance of Alloy 400 in chlorinated solvents, deaerated hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid and virtually all bases is high and generally free of stress corrosion cracking. The coefficient of expansion is the same as that of steel, so that it can be combined well with it in structures subject to temperature changes.

Availability Alloy 400:

Alloy 400 is available in: Plate, rod, pipe, fitting, flanges and welding material in standard dimensions. Deviating dimensions, forgings and fastening material on request. Merrem & la Porte also offers options for cutting, sawing and plasma, waterjet or laser cutting.
