Titanium Grade 23

Titanium Grade 23 is also known as Ti-6Al-4V ELI or Ti 6-4 ELI. Titanium Grade 23 is similar to Titanium Grade 5, a popular alpha-beta alloy within the titanium range. However, Titanium Grade 23 contains a reduced oxygen content (Extra Low Interstitial).

That lower oxygen content provides improved toughness. In addition to less oxygen, Titanium Grade 23 also contains less nitrogen and iron. This causes the alloy to have more ductility and better fracture resistance. At the same time, this also provides less strength.
