Stellite 6B alloy

Stellite Alloy 6B is a forged base cobalt alloy. In situations where wear and corrosion occur, this alloy can be put in. Stellite 6B is temperature resistant. This alloy is widely used in aerospace. 

Stellite 6B is a cobalt-based, chromium-tungsten alloy that is widely used in wear environments where its low coefficient of friction minimizes the risk of jamming and galling. Typical applications for alloy 6B include chainsaw guide blades, furnace fan blades, high temperature bearings, valve stems, food processing equipment and steel mill equipment.

About Stellite

This alloy has a higher melting point than nickel alloys. This allows them to absorb stress at a higher temperature. These alloys offer superior corrosion resistance due to the high chromium content. This makes the alloy very suitable for gas turbines, for example. Stellite is also more resistant to thermal fatigue and is more weldable than a nickel alloy. If you are looking for wear-resistant material with guaranteed mechanical properties, Stellite 6B is a good choice. With many other materials, toughness is sacrificed for wear resistance. Stellite is different in that both properties are present. Extensive hot processing transforms the material from a brittle, wear-resistant block to the tough, wear-resistant Stellite 6B.
