With a measurement post, the condition of the cathodic protection of a metal structure can be measured. From a pipeline to a large platform: a measurement post can be installed for almost any structure. The state of the metal structure can be measured via the measurement post. Inside the measurement post are the cables that indicate the electrical potential and whether it is within safe limits. The measurement post helps in detecting problems with cathodic protection so that they can be solved in a timely manner. Additionally, sacrificial anodes can be connected to the protected object via the measurement post.

While there were already concrete and plastic measurement posts available, Merrem & la Porte now also offers a stainless steel measurement post. This is specifically developed for cathodic protection installations.

Stainless steel measurement post for cathodic protection

The stainless steel measurement post weighs around 5 kilograms. Due to its lightweight, this post is easy to transport and install. Moreover, the post is less prone to damage due to its high mechanical strength.

How does the measurement post work?

At the top of the measurement post, there is a lockable cap. Below this cap, connection cables are placed for attaching measurement cables. By placing the connections at the top of the measurement post, the contamination of measurement contacts is significantly reduced.

The measurement post is securely fixed in the ground using an anchor tube (Ø 22 mm) with a length of 400 mm.
