HASTELLOY C-4 alloy
HASTELLOY C-4 alloy is a Ni-Cr-Mo alloy with high corrosion resistance even at high temperatures. Alloy C-4 has an exceptionally high thermal stability as demonstrated by its high ductility and corrosion resistance, even after prolonged annealing at temperatures between 650 and 1040°C. Partly due to the fact that this alloy was developed at the time in cooperation with German industry, Alloy C-4 is particularly popular in Germany.

Product description Hastelloy CRA - Hastelloy C-4 alloy
The more modern HASTELLOY C-22® alloy (see page 1.5) will increasingly replace Alloy C-4. HASTELLOY C-4 alloy offers high resistance to a range of chemical process environments, including hot contaminated mineral acids, solvents, chloride-contaminated organic and inorganic media, seawater and salt solutions. Alloy C-4 is both cold and hot formable. The hot forming temperature is between 900 and 1170°C. The usual forming techniques can be used without any problems. Due to the very high thermal stability, the material can be used without further heat treatment after welding. In view of the overlapping areas of application of Hastelloy C-4, C-276 and C-22 alloy, we recommend that, for reasons of price and availability, Alloy C-4 be replaced by Hastelloy C-22 or C-276 alloy wherever possible.

Availability Hastelloy C4 alloy
Hastelloy C-4 alloy is available in: Plate, rod, pipe, fitting, flanges and welding material in standard sizes. Different dimensions, forgings and fasteners on request. Merrem & la Porte also offers possibilities for cutting, sawing and plasma,waterjet or laser cutting.
