HAYNES HR-120 alloy

HAYNES HR-120 alloy is a solution-hardened heat-resistant alloy that combines exceptional high-temperature strength with very good resistance to carburizing and sulfidizing environments. Its oxidation resistance is similar to other frequently used Fe-Ni-Cr alloys such as Alloy 330 or Alloy 800H but its strength up to 1100°C is significantly higher, even compared to Ni-Cr alloys.

All you need to know about the heat resistant HR-120 alloy (UNS N08120):

• Good resistance to carburizing and sulfidizing environments
• Oxidation resistance similar to Fe-Ni-Cr materials, but with higher strength at temperatures up to 1095 °C
• This alloy is designed for use in heat treatment fixtures and industrial heating applications. This is an upgrade from the 330 alloy, 800H alloy and stainless steel.

HAYNES HR-120 alloy is finding increasing application in the industrial heating and heat treatment industries such as retorts, fasteners, baskets, muffles, etc. Potential applications can be found for components in waste incineration, petrochemicals, energy and related industries. The alloy is both cold and hot deformable and is typically welded with HAYNES 556® alloy welding consumables.
