HAYNES 230 alloy

HAYNES 230 alloy is a super alloy that combines exceptional high temperature strength with exceptional resistance to oxidizing environments up to 1150°C, nitrogen and hydrogen environments and good resistance to carburization. There is hardly any embrittlement due to long-term thermal stress. This solution-hardened alloy is widely used in gas turbine engines, chemical and petrochemical processes, power stations and industrial heating installations.

Haynes 230 (UNS N06230) in brief:

  • High temperature alloy (up to 1149 degrees Celsius)
  • Nickel-Chromium-Tungsten-Molybdenum Alloy
  • Haynes 230 alloys (because of their superior properties) offer cost-effective solutions to many maintenance problems in the heat treatment and industrial heating industries.
  • Widely used for its unsurpassed combination of high temperature strength and oxidation resistance plus enhanced thermal stability.
  • Used for combustion cans, transition channels, flame holders, thermocouple jackets and other major gas turbine components.

Product description Haynes HTA - Haynes 230 alloy

Up to 1200°C HAYNES 230 alloy has a significantly higher strength and environmental resistance compared to all conventional alloys. HAYNES 230 alloy can be formed cold or hot and can be welded using conventional techniques. In addition, the alloy can be cast in air or in a vacuum. A special welding consumable has been developed for the manufacture of products from thick plate of 12.7 mm and thicker; 230-W welding wire. The constructive weldability has been greatly improved compared to HAYNES 230 welding wire. Problems with weld metal cracking in complex structures, especially with heavily clamped welds, has been drastically reduced as a result.
